At Global Fintech Fest 2026, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra has officially announced two new UPI features and the same will enhance the payment experience.
One of the newly introduced features is UPI Tap & Pay. It can unlock your NFC phone and you can tap on an NFC-enabled payment machine and then make the payment instantly.
The next feature is the no mobile internet needed capability, and this feature explains its capability, as you don’t need an Internet connection to make a payment. The payment can use the POS machine’s internet to complete the payment procedure.
Moreover, the officials have made payment completion easy, as there is no need to enter the PIN for payments up to ₹5,000.
MyUPI has been introduced and it is a new AI-powered UPI Help platform using NPCI’s FiMI model. It will enable you to see your UPI transactions and AutoPay mandates in one place. You will be getting more safety & control as you can able to check payee information and stop UPI payments if your account is compromised. You can able to delink your number along with repeat past transactions and get faster chargeback support.
