It has been officially announced that Apple has launched its Apple Pay in India which means Apple’s payment service is now live for users in India. Check out the complete details about Apple Pay in India.
Apple will enable users in India to use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Having said that, the company has promised to offer Mac support very soon. The service can be used with the option of tap and pay in shops, in apps and on websites. There is no requirement of PIN or OTP to complete the payment.
Currently, only Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards work and your card rewards will still come. Apple has promised to bring more banks to the compatible list soon.
Unfortunately, UPI is not supported at the moment of time and Apple Pay in India works with cards only. It is sad to say that there is no support for RuPay and debit cards yet. You are required to have at least iPhone XR or newer on iOS 18 or later, or Apple Watch Series 6 or newer to use the service.
