Pi Day is mathematical constant and March 14 observed as the Pi Day, and today the search engine giant Google celebrates the day on its homepage with a doodle. It comes on March 14 because of 3/14 in the month/date format, as 3, 1, and 4 are the three most significant figures of π, which is a Greek letter.
The Pi Day was organized by Larry Shaw in 1988 at the San Francisco, and he chose the date as its the first three digits of Pi. Larry Shaw died in last year, but his followers and the lovers of mathematics celebrate the day across the globe.
The Pi represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. This is an important part of the mathematics, which is most important in the geometry, and it is key to equations calculating the area of a circle, A = πr2, and the volume of a cylinder, V = πr2h.
The doodle which Google marked has been created by the award-winning pastry chef, Dominique Ansel. And he describes the process of cooking itself as a scientific process, it created by keeping in mind volume and weight in a video to celebrate the Pi day.
