Xiaomi is a well-known smartphone company in the world and they have a lot of products from smartphones to robotic vacuum cleaner. Today the company has launched new laptops with Intel and AMD CPUs in China. They are called RedmiBook 16 and RedmiBook II. These aim to replace the RedmiBook models announced earlier. Let us check out what Xiaomi has in stores for Chinese consumers.
RedmiBook 16

Starting with the RedmiBook 16, it is powered by the latest 10th Gen CPUs from Intel. It is available in either Core i5-1035G1 and i7-1065G7 CPU option. These CPUs carry  15 W chips with 4 cores and 8 threads. The major difference is in the clock speeds. The Core i7 variant runs at a clock speed of 1.3- 3.9 GHz, whereas the Core i5 variants run with 1.0-3.6 GHz speed. The Core i7 variant has more L3 cache memory of 8MB and Core i5 variant has 6 MB L3 cache memory. The GPU tasks are handled by Nvidia MX350 GPU with 2 GB of GDDR5 RAM. RedmiBook is equipped with a single fan with dual heat pipes. The RAM version in this model is faster than AMD counterpart as there’s a DDR4-3200 vs the DDR4-2666 RAM which AMD version has got.

The RedmiBook 16 has a 16.1-inch screen with slim bezels bringing the screen-to-body ratio to 90% The display resolution is 1080P and supports 100% sRGB coverage. It also features DC dimming and can reach up to 300 nits of brightness. The keyboard is a full-sized keyboard and has a 1.5 mm keystroke. There is a fingerprint reader integrated into the Power button for security. RedmiBook 16 weighs 1.8 kg and comes with a 46 WHr battery, promising 12 hours of usage and can quick charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes using the in-box 65 W USB-C charger. The Connectivity options include a USB Type-C Port, 1X USB-A 3.0, 1X USB-A 2.0, an HDMI port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Wireless connectivity features include the latest Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO connectivity.
The Intel-powered version is more expensive with the Core-i5 version starting at CNY 5,000 ($710) while the base i7 one is priced at CNY 5,700 ($810). The AMD CPU powered RedmiBook comes at CNY 3,600 for the Ryzen 4500U laptop and the Ryzen 4700U one cost CNY 4,300. All of these models come with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD storage.
RedmiBook 14 II
Moving to RedmiBook 14 II, it is the successor to the RedmiBook 14 unveiled in the beginning of the year. It has a 14-inch display which is smaller than RedmiBook 16, but the rest of the display specifications are identical. Xiaomi has brought down the wight to 1.3 KG at the cost of battery size, bringing it to 40 Wh. Still, the company claims 10 hours worth of battery life. The RedmiBook 14 II also comes with 65W USB-C Charger and will charge from 0 to 50% in 28 minutes.
The CPU options remain the same and users can pick between Core i5-1035G1 or Core i7-1065G7 CPUs from Intel. They are paired with Nvidia MX350 GPU. The RAM is 16 GB by default which can be upgraded to 16 GB. The storage remains at 512 GB and is of the SSD type. RedmiBook II pricing begins at CNY 4,700 ($670) while the fully-loaded version, with Core i7, 16 GB RAM would cost you CNY 5,700 ($810). The RedmiBook 14 II with Ryzen 4500U starts at CNY 3,800.
