Ever since Samsung introduced the first Galaxy Fold, the smartphone industry saw an unparallel innovation ever since its inception. The smartphone became inwards foldable and shrunk its size in half. It was an instant hit. However, it had its flaws. The display protector had issues which lead to some recalls and refunds. So the hype on Galaxy Z Fold 2 was unreal and now that Samsung has unveiled it, let us check out it in detail.

Starting with the display, it has a larger 6.2-inch punch-hole display that occupies the front when folded. But unfolded is when the magic starts as it grows into a 7.7-inch AMOLED Display with a resolution of 2,213 x 1,689 pixels along with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This makes the new display 13.5% larger than its predecessor. Now the Galaxy Z Fold 2 houses the selfie camera inside a punch hole rather than an odd-looking notch and the display is now covered with an extra-thin layer of glass for added durability.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 865+ from Qualcomm. The smartphone is paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM along with 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Talking about the cameras, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a triple rear camera setup. It starts with a 12-megapixel primary sensor that has large 1.8µm pixels. It features Dual Pixel AF and OIS. It is followed by a 64-megapixel sensor which supports 3x lossless zoom and 30x Space Zoom (Digital). Lastly, there is a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle camera. The punch hole in the display holds the 10-megapixel selfie camera.
As of now, Samsung has not revealed the pricing and availability of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. But we do expect it to start shipping from September 1.
