Major UI Overhaul and Android App Support Coming In Windows 10 Fall 2021 Update

Windows 10 is reportedly getting a major update in the next fall that is expected to bring significant changes in UI and features. The Windows 10 Fall 2021 update will  bring Android app support to Microsoft Store among other features. This could help Microsoft lessen the gap between the Windows machines and smartphones.

This news came shortly after Apple took the world by storm with the introduction of the new M1 Chip for Macbooks. The Fall update coming next year is as mentioned bringing a refreshed and modern UI. In addition, several reports claim that the upcoming WIndows 10x will get new app streaming service that works from resources on the cloud.

The new app support will allow users to install Android apps and Linux package simulators on Windows laptops like the Chromebooks. Besides, the Windows laptops will ship with x86 apps that have 64-bit app emulator for Windows 10 OS installed on Arm devices. This will enable Microsoft Surface Pro X to run most legacy Windows apps. The preview of the version is expected to ship next year.

Speaking of updates, users will have to first wait for a smaller update coming in the spring after which the big update will be rolled out during the fall. The new and improved Windows 10x versions will go in RTM (Run Time Machine) which will start manufacturing next month and start shipping by the first half of 2021. It will run on arm PCs at launch without 32 bit app support for Windows 10x and this void will be filled with the new cloud app streaming service till 2022. These cloud-based apps allows the users to overcome the storage and performance limitations of their PCs. It can be used in both Windows 10 and 10x. It will feature office 365 subscription and users can see cloud apps natively on the start menu.

With Windows shedding its weight, the company hopes it will have a place in the foldable PCs which is coming in sooner than expected. The company is also aiming to provide a smooth virtual desktop experience.
