Redmi the popular smartphone brand introduced its new gaming smartphone in the market of China last month and now it seems that the smartphone is very close to being announced in the market of India, as the battery of the device passed through the Indian certification agency.
According to the reliable tipster Mukul Sharma, the smartphone’s battery has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards and he also says that the gaming smartphone will be official in India under the branding of Poco.

Starting with the display, it sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a whopping 480Hz touch sampling rate. It also comes with an HDR10+ rating and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Under the hood, the Redmi K40 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC which is based on 6nm architecture. It is accompanied by up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For extended gaming sessions and a controlled temperature, it comes with aerospace-grade vapour chamber cooling and graphene inside. The company has also launched an ice-sealed cooling back clip too.
Coming to the optics, it sports a triple rear camera that begins with a 64MP primary sensor followed by an 8MP ultrawide-angle camera with a FOV of 119-degree. The primary camera comes with the industry-first ED ultra-low dispersion optical glass lens. Finally, there is a 2MP macro sensor takes the count to three. The centrally-aligned punch hole carries a 16MP front camera. At the back, there is a pulsating ambient light that can light up in different colours and act as a notification indicator.
Regarding the extra features, it comes with NFC, IR blaster, IP53 splash resistance and so on. The dual-stereo speakers are tuned by JBL. It supports Hi-Res Audio and has Dolby Atmos Certification. It is 8.7 mm thick and comes in Silver Wing, Light Blade and Shadow colour options. It is backed by a 5,065 mAh battery and comes with a 67W fast charger inside the box that can take it from 0-100% in under 45 minutes. The charging cable features an L-shaped design. The smartphone runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box. It weighs 205 grams and is 8.3mm thick.
