Midea, a home appliances company in China has unveiled a new refrigerator that runs the HarmonyOS made by Huawei. Even though several Chinese mobile manufacturers expressed their interest in launching smartphones running HarmonyOS, this is the first time we are seeing a smart refrigerator based on HarmonyOS.
The smart refrigerator from Midea features a touch panel using which users can browse through the items inside the refrigerator and find a large collection of recipes. It is smart enough to analyse the items leftover inside the refrigerator and recommend recipes accordingly. It is caoable of alerting users regrading the freshness of the items in the refrigerator when required.
Midea promises a prompt response from their after-sales service and ensures a seamless experience. Its home appliances boast of a special zero-degree space that will eliminate the need for users to thaw out meat-based products by creating a special humidity-controlled space on the inside, which is adjusted based on the food items inside. This ensures the longevity and freshness of the fruits and vegetables inside the refrigerator.
The refrigerator comes with a total volume of 603 litres of storage out of which 194 litres goes to the freezer compartment. The company promises superior energy efficiency as well. It was available for a discounted price of 6,999 Yuan (~$ 1,100) at the moment and will go on sale with an MRP of 7,999 Yuan ($1,250) at a later date. It is available for purchase from Huawei Mall.
