The government has apparently banned another 50 more smartphone apps in India that may be Chinese origin. More than 50 smartphone apps have been blacklisted, it also marks the latest wave of app bans in the country.
The Indian government banned about 60 apps in 2020 and another 60 a few months later.Now, there are rumors that the India has banned another 50 applications, including some that have re-emerged as clones of previously banned ones.
One of the notable bans may include the popular war royal title, the Garena Free Fire. However, there is still no official list revealing the names of all the banned applications from the country.
According to ET Now media, sources claim that the new app ban wave is primarily intended to remove cloned reconstructed applications. Additionally, the withdrawal of the Garena Free Fire from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store may be due to the fact that Tencent has a major stake in the game’s parent company. However, there is currently no official news on why the game was removed from the App Store. It is unknown at this time.
A special report states that the list of banned apps includes “Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera – Selfie Camera, Equalizer & Bass Booster, CamCard for SalesForce Ent, Isoland 2: Ashes of Time Lite, Viva Video Editor, Tencent Xriver, Onmyoji Chess, Onmyoji Arena, AppLock, Dual Space Lite,” All these were removed as a threat to India’s national security.
