The 5G connectivity is now available in India but the same is currently in the beta stage and the leading telecom operators such as Airtel and Jio working hard to spread the 5G connectivity across the country. Jio has promised to deliver 5G connectivity across the country by the end of this year while Airtel will finish it’s work by March 2024.
We know that the smartphone brands have rolled out a new software update to unlock the 5G connectivity on the supporting devices to enjoy the high speed internet even after the implementation of 5G in the country.
Jio has joined its hand with the popular Chinese brand Xiaomi to offer it’s 5G service on the devices of the smartphone maker but now we got a new piece of information which is suggesting that two devices of the company will not receive the 5G connectivity of Jio.
According to the source, the devices such as Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10i will not support the 5G connectivity of Jio. It is because both devices are not compatible with the 5G Standalone or 5G SA.
For those who are not aware, 5G SA allows the communication service provider to deliver services such as low latency connectivity, massive machine-to-machine communication, 5G voice, Edge computing, and network slicing. It can be called as standalone network as well and the same is having zero dependency on the 4G network and uses a brand-new 5G network infrastructure.
It is worth mentioning that Jio offers it’s 5G service on a standalone network in India while Airtel is offering its 5G service on a non standalone network which means it is using its 4G infrastructure to offer 5G service in the country. Well, that means Airtel 5G service will be available on the above mentioned devices of the Chinese brand.
