Apple has officially launched the entry-level MacBook model, and it is called the MacBook Neo. The device is targeted to students and those who don’t want heavy power. It is the most affordable laptop from Apple, and the device features a 13-Inch Liquid Retina display along with the power of Apple’s A18 Pro processor and more. Let’s start with the pricing, as it is the most highlighted element of the device, because it is the ultra-affordable laptop from Apple. The latest MacBook Neo is priced at Rs. 69,900 for the 8GB of unified memory and 256GB of storage option while a 512GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 79,900. The company offers the device in Blush, Citrus, Indigo, and Silver options. Moreover, the company offers a discounted price for students and they can purchase the device with a Rs. 10,000 Education discount. It will be available from March 11 via the official website and authorised retailers in the country.

Talking about the specifications, the latest MacBook Neo comes with the A18 Pro processor and it powers the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It is said that the processor is up to 50 percent faster at regular tasks than a Windows PC with an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip. Having said that, it is the first laptop of the company that comes with a processor that powers of its mobile phone. The latest laptop also comes with 8GB of unified memory and 256GB or 512GB of SSD storage.
The device features a 13-inch Liquid Retina IPS display with 2408 X 1506 pixels resolution along with a pixel density of 219ppi. The device features Apple’s Magic Keyboard, and the 512GB model of the device also supports Touch ID. The device runs on Apple’s latest macOS Tahoe out of the box.
It also features a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam and the device comes with a dual mic array with Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum microphone modes. The device also features a dual speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and support for Spatial Audio.
Regarding the connectivity options, the device supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6 connectivity, along with a USB 3.0 Type-C port (with native DisplayPort 1.4 for one external display at 4K resolution) and a USB 2.0 Type-C port — both these ports support charging. The device also features a headphone jack and the same is available alone at the left edge.
The newly announced MacBook Neo has a 36.5Wh battery along with a 20W USB Type-C adapter, which ships with the device along with a 1.5m USB Type-C charging cable. It is said that the device can offer up to 11 hours of web browsing, or up to 16 hours of video streaming on a single charge.
