A couple of days ago, we updated that Samsung is gearing up to unveil its next-generation processor. Now the South Korean electronics giant, Samsung has officially unveiled the Exynos 9810 processor. The all-new next generation processor which promises to deliver 2x performance, enhanced for the Artificial Intelligence (AI), and also capable for 4K video. So let’s begin to the attic and know more about the new Exynos 9810.
The new processor of Samsung is manufactured using Samsung’s latest 10nm LPP FinFET technology, and it will able boost performance by 10 percent and 15 percent more power saver. It is powered by four of the company’s third-generation custom CPU cores clocked @ 2.9 GHz, and all these are paired up with four other cores optimized for energy efficiency – Arm’s latest Cortex-A55 which is clocked @ 1.9 GHz.
The company hasn’t revealed much information, but they mentioned the new processor has an improved cache memory, which should lead performance improvements. The company also claims that it is larger generational leap than any other recent chipsets, and it can accelerate performance towards Apple’s latest mobile chip.
Moving to the GPU, the company has taken of Mali-G72 which dropped the core count from 20 to 18 with the latest processor and it resulted in the performance boost. The new processor also enhanced AI, the company says the Exynos 9810 introduces “sophisticated features to enhance user experiences with neural network-based deep learning”, which may utilize both the hardware and software to speed up these workloads.
Moreover, the new processor packs in a 1.2 Gbps LTE modem which is a Category 18 LTE part with the support for 6x carrier aggregation, 4×4 MIMO, 256-QAM, and eLAA technology. Apart from this, the company also added a dedicated security processing unit to give protection for the data of users. The processor also bringing a new image processing unit and a multi-format codec which enables up to 120 fps 4K video recording as well as playback, 10-bit HVEC and VP9 support, it also improved the camera to give the photographs better in low light and noise reduction.
Speaking about the availability, right now the Exynos 9810 is under mass production and it is expected to power Samsung’s upcoming flagship device which is Galaxy S9.
