Yesterday Asus announced six new smartphones in Zenfone 4 series. These devices are from every segment i.e. from budget to flagships. All devices are running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which is latest as of now. But what about the future updates ? Well we have something in regards to this.
Asus has announced that they will rollout Android O update to all Zenfone 4 devices. Well that’s obvious as Zenfone 4 was launched few days before the unveiling of Android O, so every Zenfone 4 device should get it. But wait, Asus has also announced that all Zenfone 3 devices are also going to get Android O update. Also all Zenfone 3 devices will get Android O along with ZenUI 4.0 , Asus’s custom skin. This ZenUI 4.0 will come out of the box with all Zenfone 4 devices. Also Asus might launch this ZenUI 4.0 to Zenfone 3 series before Android O, as Asus will rollout Android O update to all compatible devices by the 2nd half of 2018 i.e. before July, mostly in June.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. It’s nice to see that Asus hasn’t forgotten their budget Zenfone 3 devices for Android O update. But it’s also not so nice to see that Asus will rollout this update by the 2nd half of 2018. Now what are your thoughts on this much late update ? Do let us know in the comments below.
