When we buy a new Android smartphone, the device comes with Google applications like Google, Gmail app, Hangout etc, pre-loaded. Now the company has said that from December 2016 no smartphones companies to be required to include hangouts app in the Google Mobile Service Package. But the manufacturers have to include Google’s video calling app Duo, in place of the hangouts app.
Google has emailed to its Google Mobile Service partners and said, no longer requires that the Hangouts to be included in the GMS package. Which means from 1 December 2016, manufacturers not required to include in the handset, but they have to pre-load the Duo app. However, manufacturers can include app in the handset if they want.
It is not mean that Google is stopping service to the Hangouts app, but the company make the app as an optional to the manufacturers to include it as pre-loaded app. if you are a user of the app then you can download it from the Play Store.
As the Duo comes pre-loaded in new devices, the user base of the app will automatically increase, and maybe that’s what Google is aiming. What’s your thoughts about this??? Share your thoughts with us on our social media networks.
