OpenAI, the guys behind the very popular ChatGPT has officially introduced a new browser called ChatGPT Atlas and it is bringing the power of artificial intelligence directly into the browser.
The newly launched browser is chromium based and currently it is available only for macOS. However, the company has confirmed that the browser will be available for other operating systems including Windows, iOS, and Android.
It is developed on top of ChatGPT Search and it comes with the ability to surf the web and perform searches on behalf of the user. You can able to ask context-specific questions on any website and the browser will be offering answers, summaries, and even complete tasks on its own.
The latest ChatGPT Atlas also features a memory function and the same will enable the browser to reference previous ChatGPT conversations. It will also enable you to ask to retrieve files or tab groups you had open before. The browser will also offer a ChatGPT sidebar and the same is directly integrated.
It is also integrated with ChatGPT Agent functionality and that will complete tasks on your behalf. Agent mode will be exclusive to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business users for now. The company has also added strategic safeguards to the browser including not being able to download files, run extensions or code, and it cannot connect with other apps on your computer.
