Google Play Store has millions of apps and there is an app will available for every use. Maybe that app quality is not good as you thought, but the play store has it.
Google has categorized all apps in to various category, and now Google wants to add more to make it easier for users to search their desired apps in a quick time.
The new categories are as follows:
- Art & Design
- Auto & Vehicles
- Beauty
- Dating
- Events
- Food & Drink
- House & Home
- Parenting
Play Store also changing the name of the category ‘Transportation’ to ‘Maps and Navigation’ and ‘Media and Video’ will be change to ‘Video Players and Editors’.

If you are a developer, then head to Developer Console and select your app. Click on the Store Listing now select app type and category under the ‘Categorization’. Now click save draft if it is a new app or click submit update, if it is an existing app.
This is really a great move by Google Play Store to add categories and make things easier for users.
