Last month HTC launched their flagship phone, HTC U 11. It packs some pretty decent specs as it is a flagship phone. Just recently HTC announced that they are going to announce the phone in India on 16th of June. So finally today HTC launched this phone in India. Before the pricing & availability, let’s have a look at the specs of the phone.
This HTC U 11 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 octa core processor clocked at 2.45Ghz & built on 10nm process, also with Adreno 540 GPU. It sports a 5.5” Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The Indian variant has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with Micro SD card slot, some other regions have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It has 12MP Ultra Pixel 3 Rear Camera with 1.4 micron pixels, f/1.7 lens, OIS and Dual tone LED flash. It supports 4k recording and slow-motion recording in 1080p at 120fps. Om the front it has 16MP selfie shooter with selfie paranoma and f/2.0 lens.
It packs up with 3000mah battery with Qualcomm quick charge 3.0 , though Snapdragon 835 does support quick charge 4.0 . It runs on Android 7.1 nougat with HTC sense UI on top. It has fingerprint sensor on front. Again this time HTC ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack & they will supply a pair Type C earphones as well as 3.5mm to Type C connector. It has IP67 certification for dust and water resistance. It also has Dual boomsound speakers & the placement is same as the predecessor HTC 10, one main speaker in the earpiece and other subwoofer on the side of Type C port. It also has 360° sound recording, which means it has 4 microphones. Also it’s Hi-Res Audio certified.
Now let’s talk about that Edge Sense feature. With this feature, you can just squeeze the edges of the phone in different ways to perform different tasks. For example you can squeeze the left edge gently to click a selfie, or squeeze the right edge a roughly to turn on flash. More feature might get implemented with further software updates.
This HTC U 11 comes in Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue, Ice White, Amazing Silver and Solar Red Colours. Pricing & availability details are given below :
• It is priced at INR 51,990 ($805 approximately)
• It will be available to the offline retail stores all over India by the end of June, no information about online availability.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. In my personal opinion, the pricing seems to be a bit on the higher side as usual HTC drops the price of their flagships very frequently. So if you want to buy this device we suggest you to wait for a month or 2, as this will be an excellent phone at INR 45,000 or below. Stay tuned with us for more information.
