Over the past few years, India is progressing very much in terms of technology. One of the main growth in Indian technology is the smartphones. India is among the top countries where smartphones are being sold at the very large quantity. Now seems like India is stepping one step further. This year India will host their own Mobile Congress Event, named as Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) in New Delhi.
This event will start from September 27th to September 29th at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. There will be over 5000 participants and 800 exhibitors. As of now the main highlights of the event are : Make in India, Skill India, and Digital India. We will get to know about other announcements from different Smartphone OEMs very soon. This event is organised by Cellular Operator’s Association of India (COAI). The budget to organise this event will be approximately Rs.15 Crores, & other countries like USA, UK, Korea, Germany, Japan will also participate in this event.
Manoj Sinha, Telecom Minister of India told that, “The IMC will be held on September in this year for the first time. Then on it will be an annual event. The need was felt for long to arrange such a big event of global scale to showcase how telecom and technology industry are growing in India”.
“We felt we needed a flagship event in India. In the West we have the Barcelona event (MWC), in the East there is the Shanghai Mobile WorldCongress — but there was nothing of that scale for South-East Asia. This event will serve that purpose,” said Rajan S. Mathews, director general of COAI.
