LG V30 goes official with 6 inch FullVision P-OLED display, Snapdragon 835, dual camera setup and more

After all the leaks and few official announcements, the South Korean electronics giant LG has officially unveiled its new flagship device called LG V30 at the IFA event in Berlin.

LG V30 features 6 inch FullVision Plastic Quad HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio along with Gorilla Glass 5, and it has 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution. The V30 ditches secondary display, which the company placed in previous generation such as V20 and V10. In the new V30, the company replaces secondary display with the Floating Bar and with the Always-on Display. The all new Floating Bar allows quick access to various functions of the device, and the new floating bar collapses in right side when it is not in use.

It is powered by octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and the device is paired with 4 GB RAM, along with Adreno 540 for graphical task. Along with V30, the company has unveiled another device called V30+ and the only difference between both the device is storage. The V30 has 64 GB and it can be expandable upto 200 GB via SD card. On the other hand, the V30+ has 128 GB internal storage and can be expandable upto 2 TB via microSD card.

Speaking about the camera department of the device, it has dual rear camera setup and as reported earlier it has f/1.6 aperture which is the largest yet on any smartphone. This helps in taking brighter images even in low-light conditions. It has 16 megapixel standard with f/1.6 aperture, 71-degree lens, LDAF, PDAF, OIS, EIS, Hybrid Auto-focus + 13 megapixel wide-angle with f/1.9 aperture, 120-degree lens and LED flash. The device also has 5 megapixel wide-angle with f/2.2 aperture and 90-degree lens.

The device is a pure multi-media power house and handy for the content creators, as the device comes with features like Cine Video and LG-Cine Log. These features will help users to create professional quality videos. And, in terms of photography, you can make use of the Manual Mode to control different aspects like ISO, Exposure Time and much more.

Moreover, the device is also coming with Graphy, with this user can capture photographs from the device and apply presets from professional images such as white balance, shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Moreover, LG has also taken care of the requirements of audiophiles with the inclusion of a new 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and audio tuning done by B&O PLAY (which we updated recently).

The device supports 4G VoLTE connectivity, along with the Bluetooth 5.0. The device also has the ability for NFC and USB Type-C 2.0. Moreover, the device is also supports for Daydream, fingerprint scanner, Voice Recognition and HDR10. The device runs on Android Nougat v7.1.2 which is based on LG UX 6.0+, and the device is backed on 3300 mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 and Wireless Charging. In addition, the device has IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, MIL-STD 810G Certification

• The company hasn’t announced the pricing of the device.
• The device will be available in South Korea from September, followed by the launch in North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
• It will be available in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet colour options.
• No specific date announced for the availability in India.
