This year OnePlus is taking software support to devices seriously, at least for their 2016 flagships OnePlus 3/3T. They are giving software updates to both devices very frequently, especially their Open Beta updates. Now today both devices got new Open Beta update. There are many new things as well as changes with this update, so let’s talk about it.
This is the Open Beta 17/8 for OnePlus 3/3T respectively. There are 4 new features in this update:
1. Ambient Display 2.0 – It wakes up only a particular area of the display where the notification & clock is situated.
2. Lift Up Display – This feature wakes up the ambient display whenever you pick up the phone in hands.
3. Sharing for Shot on OnePlus – It shares the wallpapers that come on ‘Shot on OnePlus’ to your friends.
4. OnePlus Font – With this update OnePlus also added a new font design option, which gives a new font named as ‘OnePlus Slate’.
There are few UI improvements in several OnePlus apps which includes Gallery, File Manager, Recorder and Weather. There are some other UI refines other areas of the OS. There are some optimisation like optimized management of foreground and background process, contact process of SIM card and addition of adding the country code automatically while making calls from other countries. This update also brings the latest security patch of 1st May 2017.
