After releasing the Galaxy J3 last month in the US, Samsung has officially unveiled the new Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7. Samsung’s J series is the company’s line of affordable budget Android phones that still brings pride to the Galaxy tagline. Now Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy J3, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones with the metal build, fingerprint sensor, VoLTE support, and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphones have launched in Europe at price tag EUR 219 (roughly Rs. 15,800), EUR 279 (roughly Rs. 19,600) and EUR 339 (roughly Rs. 24,600) respectively. The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017), which is the base device of the J series, is powered by a quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage expanded UpTo 256GB. The device runs of Android 7.0 with TouchWiz UI on top. The device has 5inch 720 p HD display on front and sports a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP front shooter. The device is equipped with a 2600 mAh non removable battery.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017), is powered by the 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 SoC with Mali T830 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage expanded upto 256GB. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and supports a dual-SIM slot. It features a 5.2-inch HD 720 p Super AMOLED display and sports a 13MP rear and front shooter with LED flash on both sides. The rear sensor offers f/1.7 aperture while the front sensor offers f/1.9 aperture. The smartphone packs a 3000 mAh non removable battery.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017), is powered by the 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 SoC with Mali T830 GPU coupled with 3GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage expanded UpTo 256GB.the device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and features a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED 1080 P display with 13MP rear and front shooter. The device is equipped with a larger 3600mAh battery. It is also the only device among the three to come with IP54 certification (Splash resistance).
The new phones sport a metal body and sport rounded edges. The J5 and J7 has fingerprint sensors in common, it is said to be the fastest in the series. At this price point, the budget J series is encroaching on Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A series, all three phones are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos SoCs, and runs on Android 7.0 with 16GB of internal storage, we know it is not as good as the competitors. The three phones are replacing last year’s variants and have gone through a design overhaul and looks noticeably different from its predecessor.
