Over the past few weeks we got an handful of Samsung flagship leaks. & Those two flagships are Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Note FE. As Galaxy Note FE is now launched, only Note 8 is left for leaks. But seems like Samsung don’t want Note 8 to be the only flagship which will be in leaks. As two new Samsung high-end smartphones are now spotted on GFXBench benchmarks.
As you can see from the image above, you will notice that model number of the device is SM-G9600. This phone is powered by Qualcomm’s unreleased Snapdragon 840 (sdm 840) processor which will a quad core processor clocked at 1.7Ghz . Now by looking at the configuration this processor seems to be a mid-range processor but sometimes even benchmark do mistake. Also maybe the processor name sdm 840 don’t mean Snapdragon 840, it might be a mid-range chipset. Other leaked specs includes 4GB of RAM and Android 7.1.2 nougat. The single core score is 1782 and multi core score is 4212. According to the Roland Quandt, this might be the Galaxy S8 mini.
Now coming to the other leak, another Samsung device with almost same specs & model number is also spotted in Geekbench. It has a very similar SM-G9650 model number. It also has 4GB of RAM and Android 7.1.2 Nougat, same as the another one, but the difference is in the processor. It has ‘sdm 845’ quad core processor clocked at 1.7Ghz. sdm 845 either seems to be a Snapdragon 845 processor or maybe just a mid-range processor with wrong model name.
If we consider both processors as Snapdragon 840 & Snapdragon 845, and Roland Quandt guessed that SM-G9600 might be the Galaxy S8 mini. So which phone is the 2nd one ? If you notice the model numbers of previous Samsung flagships the Galaxy S8 series has SM-G95xx models, Galaxy S7 & Note 7 series has SM-G93xx series, and SM-G94xx series seems to be abandoned due to the typical superstitious for number ‘4’. Now according to this model number series, SM-G9600 & SM-G9650 should be the 2018’s Samsung flagships. So does that mean SM-G9650 is Galaxy S9 ? Well only time will tell more on this.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. We suggest everyone not to take the Galaxy S9 thing seriously, as this is just a prediction. It’s too early to start even manufacturing of the phone.
