Xiaomi Became The Most Preferred Brand For Next Smartphone In India, Beating Samsung & Apple

In the smartphone industry in India, Xiaomi has changed a lot of things in the budget & mid-range categories. We all know that sales of Xiaomi phones are increasing day by day. Now according to a report by Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi is on top of the list of India’s Most Preferred Brand. So let’s have a detailed look at this topic.


Xiaomi entered into India back in 2014 with there debut phone Mi3, which changed the entire smartphone industry in India in mid-range segment. Many other OEMs also started making value fir money phones. Again last year they bought a new trend of bigger batteries & metal build in budget/mid-range categories with Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi’s best-seller in India of all time. So it’s not a matter of much surprise that Xiaomi is on top position for the India’s Most Preferred Brand with a whopping 26% of preferred next smartphone according to the survey. It’s whopping because Apple and Samsung have a share of just 12% each. Below these there’s Motorola who has 7% share, then Lenovo & OnePlus have shares of 12% each, and at last there’s Micromax at 2%. So it’s a very big deal for Xiaomi to gain this much amount of new customers in the coming time.


Now we have the side by side comparison list of current share of Android with this latest list of preferred brand for next smartphone. According to this comparison Xiaomi will have 10% increase in the consumer base in the coming time, Samsung has a downfall of 6% that’s from 18% to 12%, Lenovo will also have downfall of 5%, same case for Motorola with downfall of 4%, Micromax will have 7% downfall, while OnePlus will have an increase of 3.6% that’s from 2.4% to 6%.
