Over the past few years, Xiaomi is growing tremendously in India. Their smartphones are becoming quite popular in past 1-2 years. But the thing which annoys Xiaomi users the most is it’s ‘After Sales Service’. Xiaomi takes a lot of time to repair their phones. Even the customers don’t know about the status of their device. Is it on inspection? Repairing? Delivering? But now thing are going to change a bit for Xiaomi users.
Today Xiaomi has announced ‘Real time repair status’ for their products in India. With this feature, users can check the on-going status of their products that’s given at service centre. It’s like the status of any e-commerce website’s new product delivery. With this feature, users don’t need to call at the service centre for their device (irritating stuff, uff !!).
Here’s the procedure to check the device status:
- Go to www.mi.com/in/service/repairstatus
- Fill you contact/order/service/IMEI no. or Serial No. And click on confirm button.
- Then enter the OTP number which will come to your contact number via SMS, and click on ‘Submit’.
- That’s it, you will see your order status !!
Here are the meanings of all status that will be shown:
- Under Inspection : Your device is being checked.
- Work in Progress : Your device is getting repaired.
- Ready for delivery : Your device is ready to deliver.
- Delivered : Your device is delivered to you.
- Cancelled : Your order is cancelled.

So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally speaking, this seems to be a convenient tool for customers. Other OEMs should also start similar service. It will be beneficial for both OEMs as well as customers. What are your thoughts on this? Do share your thoughts in the comments below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
