PageRank is the algorithm that Google uses to determine the importance (relevance) of a website or any other web page. It is just one of many criteria used to determine which pages appear in search results. In numbers, a score of 0 to 10 is created, where a site with PageRank 0 is inferior, and 10 is superior (quite obvious, isn’t it?)
Know the History of PageRank
PageRank was developed by Google’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin in Stanford. PageRank is related to the name of Larry Page. The moment Page and Brin met, the most recent search engines linked to the pages that had the most keyword frequency, which meant that people could create a website by repeating the same phrase over and over to attract greater results from pages of search. This technique was commonly used by every SEO company but currently this technique is banned by Google, which harms the sites that use this resource to try to benefit.
What does PageRank measure?
PageRank tries to measure the importance of a web page.
Lary Page and Brin’s theory is that the most important sites and pages on the internet have the most links pointing to you. PageRank imagines links as if they were votes, where a site that is linking to another site is voting. Understanding this idea is basically simple: The greater the link from other sites pointing to yours, it means that your site has a much greater importance than others that do not receive as many links.
This makes sense because people on the internet tend to link only to relevant content, and sites with more links to them are generally better than sites that have no links. When PageRank was developed, it was fantastic and revolutionary. PageRank doesn’t just stop at the popularity of links. It also looks at the importance of the page containing the link (the site it is pointing to).
Pages with a higher PageRank have more weight in “voting” with their links than pages with a lower PageRank. It also looks at the number of links on the “vote” launch page. Pages with more links have less weight. It also makes sense. Pages that are important are probably better authorities on major Web search engines, and pages that have more links are likely to be less discriminatory about where they are linking to.
Ok, but now how do I increase my PageRank?

1 – Produce High Quality Content
Have exclusive content on your website. It is extremely important that there is a Blog page on your website, where you will be publishing articles frequently, and that they are unique articles, created exclusively for your website. Getting articles from other sites does not help much, as Google does not give much credibility to this page, thus preventing your PageRank from increasing. If you want to hire an agency, it’s better to hire a local agency as they are likely able to understand what you really need in your target area. For example if you want to sell in Vietnam, dealing with an agency Vietnam would be a good choice.
2 – Submit your site to directories
It’s important to remember that your site needs to be on Google Search Console and also on Bing, at least. To boost your PageRank, you must have high quality backlinks, and the best way to generate quality backlinks is to submit your site in different directories and article directories. Sites with a high PageRank that will generate links to your site.
3 – Have a Responsive Website
Having a website that fits different screen sizes makes a huge difference in Google’s assessment of your site’s PageRank. It is extremely important that your website is adapted for mobile devices. More than half of the internet accesses are already made by smartphones, and this number has only increased over the years. Increase your PageRank by preparing a responsive layout.
4 – Guest Posting
It’s the situation where you post an article on someone else’s blog or website. This is one of the best and most used techniques to increase PageRank. Many blogs offer the option for you to post as a guest, but it is usually by talking to the blogger or site owner. A good conversation helps both. The owner of the website or blog gets a new article, and you get one more link to your website, making your PageRank improve. Over time, these backlinks will increase the value of your blog or website to search engines, making your content easier to find via Google, Yahoo, Bing and others.
5 – Keep your blog / website updated
Both Google and other web searchers really like sites that keep their content up to date. The more you post, the more Google will crawl your site and the more chances for you to increase PageRank. So, don’t stand still, publish every week and, if possible, publish something new on your website every day. But don’t forget: Produce quality content.
