Pearson, one of the foremost publishers of US textbooks, has introduced a subscription service for digital textbooks called Pearson +.Users will be able to subscription service through the Pearson + app. It is said to hit college campuses in the US this fall and is expected to expand globally.
The Pearson + app will be available on mobile and desktop, offering two plans with different benefits. The service “will fundamentally change the way student’s access and experience college textbooks,” says Pearson.
At the end of last week Pearson announced the Pearson + service, which is basically a subscription plan for digital textbooks (or e-texts as Pearson calls its offers). Like OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and others, Pearson + requires a monthly payment to digitally access the library of books. There are two tiers: $ 9.99 (approximately Rs. 750) and $ 14.99 (approximately Rs. 1,100) per month, respectively. The single tier allows access to one Pearson digital textbook at a time, while the multi tier provides access to a full library of 1,500 e-texts.
Pearson + App provide students with access to all books on mobile, including desktop flashcards, note-taking capabilities, training questions, and tutoring discounts. According to a report, the Pearson + app will be available on US college campuses from this fall and is expected to be available globally in the future.
