Google seems to understand that it needs to cut off its old messenger. Google strategy is quite confusing as Google developed lots of social messaging or video call apps like Google Talk, Hangouts, Allo, and duo. it took this long for Google to understand that their messaging app is outdated when compared to Whatsapp or hike.Now Gchat or google talk is going to shut down its server as it came along these years, Google officially announced its termination of Gchat and forced to move on Hangouts.

Google Talk is an instant messaging service that provides both text and voice communication, released on August 24, 2005, This instant messaging service is colloquially known as “Gchat,” “Gtalk”, or “Gmessage” to its users. Gchat holds till its termination because of it’s easy to use interface.
Anyone who was still using Google Talk will now be forced to shift to Hangouts to continue messaging. This transition will go through smoothly into hangouts and you’ll find all your friends now in Hangouts.
Even though Gchat messaging App  may be stopped, you’re still left with a number of messaging services from Google to suit your needs.
Google Hangouts is an instant messaging app which also includes modern day features like, video chat, SMS, and VOIP features. It replaces three messaging products that Google had implemented concurrently within its services, including Google Talk, Google+ Messenger (formerly: Huddle), and Hangouts, a video chat system present within Google+. The service can be accessed online through the Gmail or Google+ websites, or through mobile apps for Android and iOS.
Allo is an AI based messaging app for both Android and iOS, it was released on September 21, 2016. This app uses a mobile number and identifies the person like other messaging app does. This app allows functions like the traditional messaging apps with one important feature A Virtual Assistant, which generally receives command and gives suggestions, in addition to this the app also allows the user to resize messages and add stickers and doodles before sending images.
Google Duo is a video chat app available for both Android and iOS. This app is released on August 16, 2016.Google Duo allows the user to video call in HD even optimized for low networks.the app also features End-to-End encryption. Another important feature of this app is it switches between WIFi and cellular network automatically.
Google + is a social network app after Google Buzz retirement, Google + launched in 2011 June. This app featured a lot of notable things like Hangouts, events and custom URL, later all these features have been removed in 2015.
Android messages is a messaging app which has been renamed after Google’s default messenger, it allows user communicate with anyone by using SMS, MMS, and more Nothing else has changed here, this app is all similar to Google messenger and does all the same work what the predecessor did.Google Messenger was previously installed on devices like the Pixel, Android One and Nexus devices.
