The popular chipset maker Qualcomm has officially introduced a new charging standard dubbed the Quick Charge 5+. It is actually the enhanced version of the brand’s previous Quick Charge 5 and it will be offering a cooler as well as consistent charging experience.
It will be using lower voltage at higher currents. The company is offering up to 140W charging (20V, 7A), 0% to 50% in five minutes, and dynamic power flow control. The latest Quick Charge 5+ depends on a smarter and it has a more efficient path in comparison to other charging solutions that are limited to 5A and needed a higher voltage to offer faster charging speeds.
The newly announced charging standard features the USB PD-PPS as the underlying charging protocol and it is backward compatible to previous generations till the Quick Charge 2.
