Google Pay is one of the most useful applications in our life and the developers of the application have implemented a new feature dubbed the Pocket Money. The latest feature is actually offering the new capability to the parents as they are able to control the digital payments of their little ones safely and securely.
The new feature is offering two options including either setting a monthly spending limit of up to Rs 15000 or selecting the approval for every transaction. In this article, I will be guiding you on the way to use the newly added feature on the board. So let’s get into the article to check out the step by step guide.
How to use Pocket Money feature on Google Pay
Before getting into the guide, let me see that you must be a Primary user and you must have an active bank account linked to Google Pay. You can be able to add up to 5 Secondary users and the secondary user must be saved in your phone contacts. Now let’s check out the way to setup.
You need to update and open the Google Pay app on your phone.
Now go to Profile → UPI Circle → Set up pocket money on UPI Circle.
Search for the Secondary user by name or phone number and simply select the contact.
Scan the Secondary user’s UPI Circle QR code and you can select your approval settings:
Option 1: Approve every payment (Partial delegation)
- Tap Continue.
Tap Yes, send invite.
Option 2: Set a monthly limit (Full delegation)
- Tap Continue.
Set a monthly spending limit.
Now you can able to add extra details:
Select the Secondary user’s relationship with you and provide the Secondary user’s government ID number.
Now you need to Continue and select the bank account to be used.
Tap Send invite and provide your UPI PIN to confirm.
After setting a monthly limit, verification is required before the Secondary user can make payments.
You’ll need to:
- Confirm your relationship with the Secondary user.
Select a government ID type.
Enter the ID number.
If the Secondary user missed the invite notification
- Open Google Pay.
Go to Profile → UPI Circle → Paying for you.
Tap Accept request.
