The Mountain View company Google has released the new February 2026 system updates, and it will be enhancing the functionality of the device without a manual restart. The latest Google Play Services update comes with three micro updates and it comes with version numbers as V26.04, V26.05 and V26.06.
Having said that, the version number v26.06 is bringing improvements to device connectivity and system management across phones, TVs, cars, PCs, and Wear OS devices.
The update is also improving the earthquake alert visuals to make them clearer. The company is also bringing a new local file backup feature that will enable downloaded documents to be automatically saved to Google Drive.
Finally, the latest V26.06 update brings improvements in battery life along with storage usage, and network efficiency on phones and TVs.
Google will automatically install the latest update and you can manually check your status by heading to Settings > Security & Privacy > System & updates > Google Play system update.
