The popular mobile chipset maker Qualcomm has officially launched its new chipsets dubbed the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. Both support Wi-Fi 7 along with 90FPS gaming and more. The chipsets will be powering the affordable and mid-range category of devices. So let’s get into the article to check out the full details of the chipsets.
Everything about Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5
The newly announced chipsets are built on a 4nm process and the chipsets focus on improving gaming, smoother UI performance, camera quality, and overall daily smartphone usage.
Qualcomm says that the latest Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor has four performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. It is also said that the latest processor offers 21% better GPU performance, 20% faster app launches, and 18% lower screen lag compared to the previous generation.
The latest Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 along with features including AI-powered Night Vision photography, 100x AI zoom, and it also supports Snapdragon Game Super Resolution. Speaking about the camera, the processor can offer up to 200MP.
On the other hand, the newly announced Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 will be powering budget and affordable mid-range smartphones. The processor comes with two performance cores running at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. It is said to provide a major 77% GPU performance improvement along with 43% faster app launches.
The latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 also becomes the first Snapdragon 4-series chipset to support 90FPS gaming. The processor also features FHD+ 144Hz displays, along with dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage, and and it comes with the support for cameras up to 108MP.
Unfortunately, the company is yet to announce which smartphone brands will be launching the first set of devices with the newly announced chipsets.
