Akash Ambani who is the Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocom Limited has shared that the company is currently checking with the development of a sovereign Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation for India that will be offering connectivity to remote villages, island communities and the country’s border outposts. The company is also building its own ground station infrastructure in India to get the support for the new connectivity option. The company will also lease temporary capacity from a leading global constellation provider that will be pushing initial service availability.
It is also revealed that the company is building India’s sovereign AI backbone in Jamnagar and the same will power entirely by clean energy from Reliance’s own solar generation from the Kutch renewable platform. The first 120 megawatts will be commissioned by the end of this year and then company is also operationalising an initial fleet of advanced NVIDIA GB300 GPUs, with compute capacity equivalent to more than 75,000 H100 GPUs.
The company is also working on Reliance Intelligence at a rapid pace and the company is expected to become fully operational over the next couple of years. Reliance Intelligence is also working to build multilingual AI services, designed to be accessible in 22 Indian languages.
Reliance has also introduced JioStar GenAI Media Studio or JAMS, an AI-native content production platform designed and the same will be supporting ideation, storytelling, audio and video production. Jio users will soon get an AI Call Agent and the same can transcribe calls in real time, summarise conversations, complete tasks during calls and it will be working natively on Jio network. The new AI-powered agent can be triggered with a voice command during calls. The company will launch 5 new platforms in India- JioBharat IQ, AI Vyapar, JioHealth IQ, JioLearnIQ, and JioKrishi IQ.
Reliance has also revealed that JioAirFiber has officially hit 13 million connected homes, and total data traffic on Jio’s network reached a massive 241 exabytes. It is also revealed that the MyJio app is becoming an AI assistant and you guys can able to activate eSIMs, buy roaming packs, recharge and manage your account using simple voice commands. Reliance is also planning to expand its affordable electronics manufacturing, including products such as smart eyewear, televisions, smartphones and connected wearables, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
