Amazon announces Alexa Auto SDK which is a Software Development Kit, let users interact with Alexa during commuting.
The new Tool Kit will bring Alexa to Automobile Infotainment systems to place calls, Search popular areas and lot more Alexa skills. We already have Android Car play and Apple Car Play to support User functions while driving without even the use of hands. Now Alexa Joins the club with dedicated SDK which enables the entire Alexa functions with Smart Assistant which gives a hand on the road.
“The Alexa Auto SDK simplifies the integration of Alexa into in-vehicle infotainment systems. The SDK brings the Alexa experience that has delighted customers at home into the vehicle. It adds automotive-specific functionality and contextualizes the experience for the vehicle.” Adam Foster states on Alexa blog.
You already know the functions of Android Auto and Car Play by Apple. Alexa is going the same way like placing calls, Navigations, Play music from Amazon Music on the Go and lot more. Automobile manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW has already implementing Alexa on their vehicles. Soon the Alexa support will be common among all Automobile manufacturers as an optional Luxury and Smart feature.
