Along with the Mi CC9 Pro smartphone and Mi TV 5 series, Xiaomi has announced its first smartwatch and the device is dubbed as Mi Watch. The wearable is coming with the cool features and also has custom skin on top of the operating system i.e. Wear OS and this is for the first time a watch is coming with a customized version of OS.
Specifications of Mi Watch
The smartwatch sports a 1.78-inch AMOLED display with an always-on feature, and it comes with a 44 mm strap and also has a single button and Crown on the top right side which can be used to navigate across the user interface. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G processor and paired with 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage. The device also comes with a speaker as well as a microphone and that can be found on the left side.
In terms of connectivity options, the device supports NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi (n), GPS, an independent vibration motor, and supports eSIM, which will allow you to connect to the internet as well as make and receive calls. The Mi Watch runs on in-house MIUI for watch on top of Google’s Wear OS. The custom MIUI for watch loaded with 40+ built-in apps along with an app store.
The wearable also supports system dark mode feature and features all the usual fitness trackers including the heart rate sensor as well as swim tracking and that supports the Firstbeat’s performance analytics. The watch also supports watch faces and XiaoAI voice assistant.
It ships on 570 mAh, and the company claims the device will last up to 36 hours or up to two days on a single charge. Having said that, the company has also unveiled a Premium Edition Mi Watch which comes with a sapphire crystal screen, stainless steel frame and band.
Pricing and availability
The Premium Edition is priced at CNY 1,999 and the same will available later this year. While the regular variant will cost CNY 1,299 and is now available for reservations and will go on sale at 12 AM on November 11th in China. There is no information about the availability details of the device in other parts of the world.
