As we all know, Samsung is going to launch their flagship trio at the UNPACKED Event in mid February. Along with the trio, the Korean brand is also supposed to launch a new foldable smartphone. As of now we don’t know much about the foldable because we aren’t getting much leaks. But in regards to the Galaxy S20 series we are getting a lot of leaks and information. And that’s why we have a good idea about the design as well as specifications of this trio. Today we got another set of information regarding the telephoto lens.
In earlier leaks it was supposed that the highest end Galaxy S20 Ultra will have 10X optical zoom, whereas the other two will get 3X only. Now seems like the information is not so true, because this leak suggests that Galaxy S20 Ultra will have 5X optical zoom through the prism. The delivery for prisms with 5X zoom to Samsung plant in Korea is happening, based on the report. This prism is made by Optron-Tec, which is the same company which provided 10X zoom prism for Oppo Reno 10X Zoom. But seeing the images side by side, many reviewers says that the actual optical zoom on Reno is 5X.
And that’s where popular leakster Ice-Universe clarifies that Galaxy S20 Ultra has 48MP camera for zoom, so they can easily create 10X zoom by pixel cropping and making the final image at 16MP. So technically 10X lossless zoom is possible on Galaxy S20 Ultra. They can even do better pixel cropping with Galaxy S20 & S20+ because according to rumours both will have 64MP telephoto camera. So it would be easier on both these devices.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Many more leaks are on it’s way, so this information might change. Till then let us know in the comment section below what are your thoughts on this zooming technology Galaxy S20 series might have. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
