MIUI is finally filling the gap of an app drawer. It has been one of the major shortcomings that the launcher had and strived to make it up with third party app drawers. Xiaomi is now ready to launch the app launcher and app shortcuts with the alpha app launcher.
The new version (4.10.6.1025-06141703) is available to try and users can get familiar with the additional features. Reportedly, users need to enable the app drawer to experience its functions. Users cannot access the app drawer just by a swipe from the bottom. There is a button in the middle of the app bar and it just needs to be flicked.
App shortcuts are the additional feature that Xiaomi added to the version. The shortcut option will popup upon a long press on the app icon. These shortcuts enable the users to use any function of the app in a click. However, the MIUI launcher is in its starting stage of development dubbed as alpha. Hence, users can expect tremendous changes going forward. Moreover, it is not sure whether the launcher will perform the functions in a steady way even it looks similar to POCO launcher.
