Back in January, OnePlus showcased it’s Concept One smartphone at CES 2020 event. It’s speciality is that the back camera can get hidden through an invisible glass technology from McLaren. When camera is not in use, the glass makes the cameras invisible to see. It gives a clean look at the back which looks great. We got to see this tech on the design of OnePlus 7T Pro with different back material. Now today let’s see patent of this tech with another OnePlus camera design.
Some new patent designs are registered on WIPO Global Design Database of hidden glass on back camera setup, similar to Concept One. This time the camera design is circular which gives us a glimpse of OnePlus 7T. As you can see from the images below, there are total four different designs with camera visible and hidden as well. Here we can see triple camera setup on each design along with it’s hidden design.

Alongside the camera designs, we can see a design showing the front side as well. The design is all about the display and there’s neither water drop notch nor punch hole, just a display. This means either it’s pop-up camera or in-display camera.

So that’s all the information we have as of now. As OnePlus said earlier that this hidden camera technology is not in mass production as of now, si don’t expect it at least on OnePlus 8 series. Maybe OnePlus 8T series will have this or OnePlus 8T Pro McLaren Edition will have. And in-display camera on the front is a future thing for sure, because company’s generally files patents too early. Well, what are your thoughts on this design? Do you like it or not? Let us know in the comment section below. Also stay tuned with us for more information.
