Adobe To Stop Support For Their Flash Player

Many websites use the Adobe Flash from past many years. But all those who has or know about websites, HTML5 is now trending and most of the new websites and many popular websites are using HTML5. Now after observing this Adobe decide not to compete with HTML5, they are actually stepping back from this competition.

Adobe has decided to shut-down support for their Flash player. They will stop supporting it from the year 2020. An Adobe official has given the statement:

“We will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats,”

It’s nice to see that Adobe is not wasting time on their old software. In 2014 Adobe Flash was used by approximately 80% websites, while till half of 2017 the usage is only 17% . So it’s a good move by Adobe to shut-down the support. By the time of shutting down in 2020, hardly anyone will use the Flash.
