While we hearing reports of Vodafone India to merge with Idea Cellular, now we got to know that Airtel has confirmed that it would acquire Telenor India.
According to source, Airtel the largest mobile networking operator of the country acquires Telenor India which is also working as a Telecom operator. And the deal is not official yet, as it has to get regulatory approval first but the deal should be completed within a year.
Airtel has around 269 and subscribers, and with the new acquisition the network will add 44 million subscribers. But the number will not keep Airtel to stay on the top of the mobile network, as if Vodafone and Idea merger then subscribers of both the companies will reach to 400 million (approx) and then it will make Airtel to the second place.
Anyways let’s wait for the official statement.
