The entire nation is going through a lockdown that happens due to the outbreak of coronavirus and the government has taken the bold decision to curb the disease. That said, when the lockdown was announced first in March all the leading telecom operators came forward to support it’s users especially the low income users by offering free incoming calls after the period of validity and a free recharge worth ₹10.
Now the Prime Minister of the country has extended the lockdown period till May 3 and now Airtel and Vodafone Idea come forward with the same benefits for the low income users along with the new ways to encourage users to make payments via online.
Both Airtel and Vodafone Idea users will get free incoming calling facilities even after the validity period but there will be no data are or talktime benefits. Well, to get these services users are required to make a recharge and that is via online. Having said that, the telecom operators know that many of the users are not capable to make online recharge for that the companies bring innovative programs.
Vodafone has introduced a new initiative called #RechargeforGood programme and the same will provide a subscriber to earn up to 6 percent cashback on recharges done for someone else. It is worth to mention that these recharges are need to be done through the MyVodafone or MyIdea apps.
Similarly, Airtel has launched the ‘Earn From Home’ plan, and asks its users to register to become a Superhero, and the users are required to make subsequent recharges of others and the same will offer cashback. Moreover, Airtel will cut 4 percent in the recharge amount, and the Superhero will have to pay less for the recharge at checkout.
