Well, now Google has launched the first developer preview of Android 13 and the same is available on Google Pixel 4 along with Pixel 5 and Google Pixel 6 Series. As the name suggests, the new version is meant for developers and it is for testing purposes instead of a daily driver. The latest developer preview of Android 13 will enable developers to make applications in a better manner along with the Material You theme. You will get the themed app icon and the same can also inherit a part of the colour palette. It is coming to the Pixel devices initially but the company says that the developers are working with other smartphone brands as well to release the feature on more and more devices.
Android 13 developer preview 1 is also coming with new security features as well and now you will get a new photo picker and that will enable you to share photos as well as videos with an individual app without the app needing permission for all photos. It is worth mentioning that this particular feature will be available on Android 11 and above versions of the operating system as well.
The company is also bringing a new “NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES” permission and the same will offer apps a list of nearby devices without the need for location permission and the upcoming version of the operating system will also allow you to set language on a per-app basis.
Speaking about availability, you guys can able to download the first developer preview of the upcoming Android operating system on official website. Having said that, the upcoming version of the Android Operating System will be available around August or September this year and the company may start the beta testing from next month onwards.
