The Mountain View Company, Google introduced the Identity Check anti-theft security feature on its Pixels with the December 2024 Pixel Feature Drop, and Samsung has already added the feature into its One UI 7 based on Android 15. Now we got a new piece of information that says the company will be implementing the new anti-theft feature for the devices that are not built by Google or Samsung. And this particular feature will be available in the next generation Android 16 software update.
So when you enable the new feature, it will ask for your biometrics before allowing you to change critical security settings or allowing access to saved passwords and other sensitive data.
So the new feature will restrict thieves from accessing your sensitive data because your biometrics cannot be used by them. So let’s wait for the new anti-theft feature in Android 16.
