We are inching closer to the new operating system of Google and it will be Android P, recently we updated that the first developer preview of Android P may arrive by the mid of this month. And we also have seen few rumours about the new features which the upcoming operating system will give to the users. Well, now we got a report which suggests that Android P will give the user an enhance call blocking feature; which means a user will get more ‘Peace of Mind’ by blocking the unwanted calls, especially from the carriers.
According to few set of commits in the AOSP (Android Open Source Project), The upcoming Android P may feature the all-new ‘enhanced call blocking’ functionality. Speaking about the authorization of the commits, it was added to the AOSP by a Sony engineer. With this feature, a user can block numbers on various criteria, which means you don’t need to block a number manually and also now things will be easier.
Here are the criteria:
The number which is not saved in your contacts list.
Private calls, which means the number which is disclosed by the caller.
The number which belongs to a pay phone.
The number which is unknown, means there is no caller ID information.
The call blocking feature will automatically disabled after an emergency call, and when the feature is disabled user will see a notification which will notify that the call blocking feature is disabled and they can go back to the setting to enable the feature again.
Well, the features sounds awesome! And this feature should be on Android at least from the Marshmallow, because blocking unwanted call is something very important and I personally, use different applications to block unwanted numbers. As stock Android does not provide such feature, so bringing this feature in the latest Android P will be a welcome feature for a huge number of users.
