Google introduced the privacy-focused photo picker with the Android 13 operating system and the same only worked with files stored locally on your device. But now the company has updated the Android photo picker and introduced a new capability that will make your life easy.
With the new update, the Android photo picker can able to show photos from your cloud along with locally stored images. This gives you seamless access across your photos as well as videos from local and cloud storage.
Currently, Google Photos is the only cloud platform that works with the updated Android photo picker but we believe that Google will be adding more apps to the supported list by offering the official API to add support.
It is worth mentioning that only cloud services nominated by phone manufacturers can provide images to the photo picker but this will also change in the future.
