Android Turns 10; A Short Recap On G1 Or HTC Dream

The most popular mobile operating system – Android is marked its 10th anniversary on September 22 which remembers its long way from 2008.

Sergei Brin and Larry page unveiled the first Android device on September 22, 2008. The Google, HTC and T-Mobile collaborative G1 was the name given to the Smartphone which is priced at $399. The Device is the first step ahead to kill the iPhone in its record.

The G1 or HTC Dream is so unique since it has launched with a slide Display, A QWERTY keyboard for efficient typing and Trackpad to navigate, But lack Touch Screen. App listing was limited to Google apps like Maps, Gmail and Google Search! Users will have Android Market (Early Play Store) to download apps and games if available!

The G1 came up with No Headphone Jack! Yes, we’re back to G1 era as we see in many smartphones with no Headphone Jack. G1 is the real competitor to iPhone even though there were other options like Blackberry and Nokia’s Symbian memories. HTC came with MAgic, the second generation of Android device and later on Tier 1 brands like Samsung, Motorola, LG came up with Android Devices in 2010.
