The Cupertino based company Apple has officially introduced the latest tracking device dubbed the Apple AirTag 2 and the device comes with an enhanced range along with a louder speaker. The newly announced Apple AirTag 2 comes with Apple’s second-generation Ultra Wideband chip and it is worth mentioning that this particular chipset is also being used in the latest iPhone 17 series, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch Series 11. It comes with enhanced Precision Finding to work from up to 50% better than before, using haptic, visual, and audio feedback and this will be helping users to find out their lost items.
Apple has introduced the new Apple AirTag 2 with an upgraded Bluetooth chip and the same is extending the connectivity range even further. It is also said that the internal speaker is now 50% louder and it will be helping users hear the alert sound more easily.
The company has also extended the Share Item Location feature and the update will enable you to securely share an AirTag’s location with trusted third parties, including airline staff and this will be improving the lost luggage recovery. The device is also offering end-to-end encryption, frequently changing Bluetooth identifiers, and cross-platform alerts. It is also confirmed that the device uses 85% recycled plastic, 100% recycled rare earth elements in magnets, and maintains compatibility with existing AirTag accessories.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the company has not increased the pricing which means you will get the device at $29 for a single unit or $99 for a four-pack. The new device can be purchased through the official channels.
