We already witnessed for the unveiling of , , and at the ongoing Apple’s WWDC 2018 event. Well, the company has also announced the new and improved version of tvOS which is called as tvOS 12. The tvOS 12 is for the Apple TV’s and the Apple TV app on the devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV will now support over 100 video applications from 10 countries. Moreover, the company has joined its hand with several companies to provide Apple TV to other markets.
Having said that, the company’s flagship Apple TV 4K is now receiving the Dolby Atmos audio support and now it the “only streaming player with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos certified.” The tech giant also announced that it has joined its hands with Charter Communications, which is the second largest cable provider in the US, and the partnership is to offer Apple TV 4K to the users.
The tvOS 12, also introduces a new feature called Zero Sign-on and it will allow users access to their account by detecting the broadband network and it will automatically sign-in into the premium apps which are bundled in their plan. Moreover, the new Zero Sign-on will begin with Charter later this year and support will continue to other providers.
The company has also introduced new aerial screensavers with the collaboration of the International Space Station National Lab and the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space. And the screensavers will be captured in the 4K HDR quality by NASA astronauts in space and come with interactive location information.
Apart from that, the new version of tvOS also comes with the support for the AutoFill passwords, it also brings the Apple TV remote to the Control Center on iPhone and iPad which will allow users to quickly access to the remote’s controls. Finally, the new version adds the home control systems such as Control4, Crestron, and Savant can be used to control Apple TV, with Siri also communicable for voice controls.
