Apple has launched the Apple Home Collection featuring smart cameras, video doorbells, UWB locks & thermostats. The new line of accessories developed alongside LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The devices feature a simpler setup process as they can be paired directly with an iPhone using a single tap, and you will be getting all settings as well as controls will be available through the Apple Home app. It is also confirmed that all device data is protected by end-to-end encryption, preventing Apple, LG, and Schneider Electric from accessing camera feeds or usage information.
The $249.95 Video Doorbell uses a dual-camera system along with a 2.5K lens for the main view and a 1080p lens pointed downward at packages. The camera series comes with a price tag of $399.95 for the Floodlight Cam, a $299.95 for the Outdoor Cam, and a $199.95 for the Indoor Cam. The indoor model also features a physical privacy mechanism and it will automatically tilt the lens down and away when the first person in the household arrives home. The entire video will be stored in iCloud+.
Apple is asking $349.95 for the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock that uses Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology and it will enable the door to unlock automatically as a user approaches with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch. The company is also offering two $199.95 thermostats, one made by LG and the other by Schneider Electric.
The devices feature an Adaptive Temperature and the same can adjust based on the location data and usage habits of the household’s iPhones. The devices come with the support of Thread and Matter. They also include a quality-of-life update for smart home users. You can able to purchase the new Apple Home Collection from December but some accessories arriving in early 2027.
