Apple iPhone 11 Now Official With A13 Bionic & More

So the iPhone is here. Apple today announced its new series of iPhones at Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, and one of them is iPhone 11. Those who are confused this is not the successor of iPhone XS, but the successor of iPhone XR. So this will be the cheapest iPhone of 2019. So without wasting any more time, let’s jump to the list of what iPhone 11 packs within.

Design:

Starting off with design, from the front it looks exactly same as all iPhones from iPhone X. That big notch with front camera, earpiece and that 3D face unlocking sensors. Moving to the back and we can see a new square camera layout. It has dual camera setup which is placed in a square box design along with LED flash. The back is a mix-up of solid glass and aluminium material. Apple says that this is the toughest glass ever seen on a smartphone. The Apple logo is located in the centre as usually. It has IP68 certification for dust and water resistance, and there’s nothing more to talk about the design.

Specifications:

This iPhone 11 sports a 6.1 inch IPS LCD Liquid Retina display with HD+ (1792×828) resolution and 324 pixel density (ppi). It has 120hz touch touch sensing (not refresh rate like some Android smartphones) and has 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It comes with latest A13 Bionic chipset which is built on 7nm process, though we don’t know about clock speed or number of cores yet. This time Apple is going for it’s own unnamed Bionic GPU instead of Mali PowerVR series. It has 4GB of RAM with internal storage of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

Moving to camera, it has dual camera support. This time they gave a wide angle camera that’s first for the company. Primary rear camera is a 12MP sensor with f1.8 lens, OIS, 1.4μ pixel size, PDAF, enhanced Smart HDR for best in class dynamic range, and Night Mode for ultra low light situations. Secondary wide angle 12MP sensor has f2.4 lens and 120° field of view, and Apple called it as 2x zoom out. The front camera finally got an upgrade of 12MP sensor.

iPhone 11 got some good upgrades in terms of video recording. Now it has cinematic stabilization for extremely stable footages. It has Extended Dynamic Range (EDR) on both cameras, giving good dynamic range just like Smart HDR in photos. And this will be applied on videos up to 4k at 50fps, whereas regular videos can be shot up to 4k at 60fps. The front camera can also record videos up to 4K at 60fps, and at 30fps for EDR. Also this is the first time we have seen slow-mo (officially slofies) video recording on front camera, mostly at 240fps.

This iPhone 11 runs on latest iOS 13 out of the box. It runs on a 3110mAh battery (figure not official) with fast charging support, but in-box charger might just have 5W rating. It will have Qi wireless as well as reverse wireless charging. The 3D Face Unlocking is present here as well. It has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support as well. For connectivity it has 4G, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and Lightning port. It has Black, White, Green, Yellow, Purple, and Product Red colour options.

Pricing & Availability:

  • Pricing starts at $699 (₹50,230 approx.)
  • Pre-order starts from 13th September.
  • Available from 20th September in 30 countries.
  • No information about the price of other variants as of now.

So that’s the iPhone 11 by Apple this year. I am personally impressed with this one, as it’s cheaper than iPhone XR’s launch price and offers better value than the same. Also it doesn’t compromise on the build material. I am updating you all on other two iPhones very soon, so stay tuned with us for more information for that. And what you think about this iPhone 11?
