In a surprising move, Apple released an upgrade to the MacBook Pro Lineup, earlier today. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is an improvement over the existing models and aims to offer a refined experience. Let us look at the new MacBook.
Specification
The company has chosen to keep the tried and tested 13.3-inch LED-backlit IPS display. The display has a 227 PPI, thanks to the 2560 x 1600 resolution. The screen brightness can go up to 500 nits. The processor gets an upgrade as well. The 10th Generation Intel Core processor powers it.
The 10th Gen i5 processor is clocked at 2 GHz, which can be Turbo Boosted up to 3.8 GHz. Apple promises an 80% increase in performance in comparison to the previous model. The American company has made sure there is enough power to handle any tasks it faces. Unlike other windows machines, MacBook Pro has Integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics. According to the company, it delivers up to 80% faster performance over its predecessor. The device can support 4K video editing, thanks to the improvement in graphics. If the user prefers, he can connect the laptop to Pro Display XDR and enjoy working in 6K resolution.
There is a 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM to boot at 3773 Mhz in the base configuration along with 6 MB shared L3 cache. As for the memory, the inbuilt storage is of 256 GB capacity, and it is of SSD type which makes the system much faster than HDD ones. IF you think this isn’t enough, Apple offers an additional expansion option of up to 32 GB of RAM and up to 4 TB of storage.
It comes with an improved keyboard. As it has a new magic keyboard replacing the butterfly type. This keyboard saw its debut last march in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It offers a scissor mechanism with 1mmkey travel. The keyboard houses inverted T-arrow key layout. Keeping the tradition, Apple has included touch bar for quicker touch controls too. It comes with Touch ID support with inbuilt T2 security by Apple. The new MacBook runs the latest Catalina out of the box.
Price and Availability
The 13-inch MacBook Pro from Apple starts at INR 1.22.990. We expect the company to start the sales via Apple Authorised Resellers once the lockdown is over. In comparison, the laptop is available for $1,299 (INR 98,300) for the base variant in the US. Also, if you are a student in the States, you are eligible for an additional discount of $100.
